Refund and Cancellation Policy

At Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika, we aim to provide reliable and transparent services to our authors, contributors, subscribers, readers, and participants. This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains the circumstances under which payments made through our website may or may not be eligible for cancellation or refund.

1. General Refund Terms

  • Payments made for publication-related services, subscriptions, registrations, workshops, events, or other services are generally non-refundable once the service or processing has commenced.
  • Refunds may be considered only in exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika.
  • Any applicable payment gateway or transaction charges may be deducted from the refundable amount.

2. Situations Where a Refund May Be Considered

A refund may be considered in the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate payment has been made for the same service.
  • An amount has been debited from the user's account but the corresponding transaction has not been successfully recorded or received by Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika.
  • An event, workshop, or paid programme is cancelled by Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika.
  • A payment has been made due to a genuine technical or administrative error attributable to Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika.
  • Any other circumstance where a refund is required under applicable law.

Where an event or programme is cancelled by Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika, the eligible refund will generally be made for the amount actually received, subject to applicable payment-processing charges where relevant.

3. Non-Refundable Payments

Refunds will generally not be provided for:

  • Manuscript/article processing, editorial, or publication-related services after the editorial or processing work has commenced.
  • Subscription payments after the subscription period or issue has been made available or dispatched.
  • Registration fees for events, seminars, workshops, or other programmes after the registration process has been completed, except where otherwise specified.
  • Payments made voluntarily with incorrect information supplied by the user.
  • Failure to submit required documents, manuscripts, or information within the prescribed period.
  • Rejection of a manuscript, article, poem, story, or other submitted work by the editorial team.
  • Change of mind after payment has been made.
  • Failure of the user to attend an event, workshop, seminar, or programme after successful registration.
  • Any services that have already been substantially provided.

4. Manuscript and Publication-Related Payments

Payment of any publication-related fee does not guarantee acceptance or publication of a submitted manuscript.

Editorial decisions, including acceptance, revision, or rejection of a submission, remain subject to the applicable editorial and publication policies of Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika.

If a manuscript is rejected after payment, the payment will ordinarily remain non-refundable where editorial or processing work has already commenced.

5. Duplicate or Failed Transactions

If your bank account or payment method has been debited but the transaction is shown as failed or unsuccessful on our website, please contact us with the transaction details.

After verification, any eligible duplicate or failed-payment refund will be processed through the original payment method or as otherwise permitted by the payment gateway.

6. Refund Request Procedure

All refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

  • Full name of the payer
  • Registered email address or mobile number
  • Date of payment
  • Amount paid
  • Transaction/Payment ID
  • Reason for requesting the refund
  • Supporting documents, where applicable

Refund requests will be reviewed by the administration, and the decision will normally be communicated within 7–10 business days.

If a refund is approved, it will generally be processed through the original mode of payment, subject to the processing timelines of the relevant bank, card issuer, UPI provider, or payment gateway.

7. Razorpay Payments

Payments made through Razorpay are subject to the applicable terms and conditions of Razorpay and the user's respective bank, card issuer, UPI provider, or other payment service provider.

Uttarsuri Sahitya Patrika does not control the processing time of banks or payment service providers. Consequently, the time taken for an approved refund to appear in the user's account may vary.

8. Cancellation of Services

Where cancellation is permitted for a particular event, workshop, subscription, or service, the applicable cancellation terms will be communicated on the relevant registration or payment page.

If no specific cancellation terms are provided, the general provisions of this Refund and Cancellation Policy will apply.
